Volt-free contact
A switch contact that supplies no voltage of its own.

It simply opens or closes an isolated electrical contact.

Also called a dry contact or potential-free contact. The receiving circuit provides the voltage; the contact only makes or breaks that circuit.
Why would I use it?
Use it when you want a simple, electrically independent alarm or switching signal.
