An M12 coding designed mainly for 100 Mbit/s industrial Ethernet.

It provides four contacts arranged for two Ethernet pairs.

D-coded M12 is commonly found on PROFINET and EtherNet/IP equipment, although newer high-speed applications may use X-coded connectors.
